Setting up recurring e-learning courses

In this article, we explain how to set up recurring learning packages and what this means for your employees.

Written by Sanne Lodders

Employees need to refresh their skills and knowledge on a regular basis. With recurring learning packages, you ensure that your employees automatically have to retake a learning package once they have completed it for the first time. You determine the interval, usually 365 days, after which they can take the package again.

This is useful for annual training, qualification requirements, or other knowledge that needs to be refreshed regularly.

How do you set up recurring learning packages?

Follow these steps to set a learning package to recur:

  • Go to the e-learning course for which you want to set up recurring completion.

  • Look for the setting for recurring courses (only for e-learning packages)

  • The system automatically sets it so that employees have to retake the learning package 365 days after completion.

What do you see on the employee profile?

Once an employee completes the learning package for the first time, the following happens automatically:

  • The previously completed course is marked as finished (with completion date).

  • A new copy of the same learning package is automatically created for the next recurrence cycle.

This way, on the employee profile you can see clearly which learning packages have been completed and which are currently active.
