You can now preview Excel files directly on the web when viewing documents. Until now, you always had to download an Excel file first to see what was in it. That is no longer necessary if the file is built up with standard rows and columns.
The preview does not take special formatting into account, such as colours, merged cells or charts. If the file mainly contains regular rows and columns, the preview is a quick and clear way to view the content.
Viewing an Excel file
Open the document that the Excel file is attached to.
Click the Excel file.
The content is shown directly as a table, as shown in the screenshot below.
Want to edit the file or view it fully formatted? Download the file as usual.
What the preview does and does not show
Standard rows and columns are displayed clearly, even in larger files.
Special formatting, such as colours, merged cells, filters or charts, is not shown.
The preview works best with files that are built up simply, without much extra formatting.
Handy in combination with the AI Buddy
This preview also comes in handy when the AI Buddy creates an Excel file for you. Instead of having to download the file first to check what the AI Buddy sent, you now see the content straight away on the web. This lets you check at a glance whether the result is correct, without switching to another program.
