Good onboarding has many benefits. It takes less time for you as an organization to train a new employee and you can therefore make the employee productive and more committed to the organization faster.

In general, you can create an onboarding module as below. A common structure is to create a welcome package, enabling new employees to learn more about the entire organization, the location/branch, and the position.

Examples

A common structure for an onboarding module is usually designed in three steps.

1. Learning package for the entire organization

  • Welcome to (name of organization)! (video);

  • History of the organization;

  • Our vision and core values.

2. Learning package by community

  • About us (video);

  • Internal rules;

  • Workwear;

  • Practical information (i.e. emergencies, points of contact, key/login).

3. Learning package by position

  • First day of work (manager checklist, welcome message, introduction);

  • Team introduction (video);

  • Your documents (i.e. payslip, collective labor agreement);

  • Tips for using Oneteam.
