Academy: improved design

The screen where you build your courses has been given an improved layout. Instead of separate pages for each part, you now see your entire course in a single overview. This makes it easier to keep a grip on the structure and lets you work faster.

What's new?

Previously, the editor was made up of separate pages: for every section, module, or screen you clicked through to a new screen. That made it easy to lose track of your course.

In the new layout, you see the complete structure of your course in a single view, so you no longer have to click back and forth between separate screens to see what's where. This makes building learnings a lot more pleasant and, above all, a lot more efficient.

How does it work?

The editor is divided into three columns:

  1. Table of contents (left): Here you see the full structure of your course — sections, modules, and screens listed underneath each other. For each module you can see at a glance the type (content or quiz), the status, the number of points, and, for content modules, the duration.

  2. Detail panel (center): As soon as you click a module or screen, the related settings or content appear here. So you make your changes directly in the center.

  3. Screen preview (right): When you've selected a screen, you immediately see on the right how it will look to the colleague. You can expand and collapse this preview, so you decide how much room you keep for editing.

What can you do in the table of contents?

The table of contents is more than an overview: you manage your course directly from it.

  • Add: Add new sections, modules, and screens directly from the table of contents, or via the New button. New items are placed at the bottom.

  • Rename: Double-click the title of a section or module to adjust it right away.

  • Reorder: Drag modules and screens to the right spot. The drag icon appears as soon as you move your mouse over an item.

  • Manage quickly: Hover over a module or screen and use the three-dot menu to delete, duplicate, or rename it.

  • Collapse and expand: Collapse sections and modules to focus on one part of your course, and expand them again when you want to see the whole.

Good to know!

  • Changes are updated across the whole screen immediately. If you adjust the number of points for a module, for example, you'll see that reflected right away in both the table of contents and the detail panel.

  • The screen preview only appears when you've selected a screen, not for a module.

  • Haven't added any content yet? Then you'll see an empty view that helps you get started.
