With organisation messages, you reach employees with important news, even if they don’t see each other every day. The overview for creating an organisation message has been simplified from six steps to three. You can also choose as the sender whether the message is posted under the organisation’s name or under your own name.
A message under your own name feels more personal, for example an update from the director or a thank you from your team leader. It still remains an organisation message.
How do you create an organisation message?
In the organisation dashboard, go to News & updates and click Create message. The overview consists of three steps:
Content: put together the content of your message and choose the sender.
Select audience: choose who the message is for.
Send: Send your message immediately or schedule it.
Step 1: content
When creating the content, you put together the body of your message. Besides text, you can add a poll, a photo or video, an Unsplash photo and a document. You can also adjust the formatting here, such as bold and italics.
This is also where you choose the sender. You have two options:
Organisation name: the message is posted under the name of your organisation, including the logo. (in the example below: Customer Success)
Your own name: the message is posted under your own name.
Step 2: select audience
Choose who the message is for. You can send it to everyone in the organisation or to specific communities, functions, languages and names.
Step 3: send
If everything is correct, send the message. If you want it to appear at a later moment, you can also schedule it.
What happens to a message posted under your own name?
A message you post under your own name remains an organisation message. This means that:
the message appears on the timeline of the audience.
the message can be found in the overview of organisation messages, together with your other organisation messages.
So you don’t have to choose between personal and organised. The sender only determines under which name the message is shown.
