Different Event types

In this article we explain how to distinguish between events by adding labels, and how to filter on them.

Give your events a label, for example Training, Drinks or Meeting. This way employees can see at a glance what kind of event it is, and they can filter the events list down to what is relevant for them.

A type is optional: you can still create an event without one, but it keeps things clear and easy to scan. You can add several types to the same event, for example Training and Mandatory. You set this up as an organisation admin or community admin.

Adding a type to an event

  1. Create a new event or open an existing event to edit it.

  2. Go to the Type field.

  3. Choose an existing type from the list, or type a new one in the field.

  4. Save the event. A new type is automatically added to your organisation list.

The selected types appear as labels on the event, including for employees in the app. Do you want to remove a type from an event? Remove the label in the Type field and save the event again.

Reusing types across your organisation

You do not have to create types upfront. As soon as you use a type for the first time, it is saved for your organisation. The next time you or a colleague creates an event, the type is simply there in the list. This way you build up a fixed set of types and keep the naming consistent.

Deleting a type

In the list of types you will find a cross next to each type. Click it to delete the type from your organisation. Please note: the type is then also removed from every event it was linked to. The events themselves stay as they are.

Filtering by type

In the events overview you can filter on one or more types. This works both in the admin overview and in the list employees see in the app, and you can combine it with the filter for upcoming and past events. If no events match your filter, you will see an empty overview. The filter stays active until you clear it yourself.
